Many of the businesses have relocated which means that part of the Phase 1 area of development is ready for demolition work to begin. This will start as soon as pre-commencement conditions have been discharged. You may have spotted that some trees along the riverbank and in Phoenix Industrial Estate have already been removed under the planning consent.
Over in Malling Brooks Industrial Estate, machines are moving in to prepare the ground for the construction of new factory premises for some of the businesses relocating from Phoenix Industrial Estate.
While this is taking place we will be procuring contractors to work on the development of the first phase of North Street Quarter. This will comprise the construction of:
- 243 homes, including the majority of the affordable homes
- The public car park
- The business units
- The Health Hub
